About the Festival

The Iași International Festival of Literature and Translation is a project at its 11th edition that brings together in Iași, between 18-22nd October 2023, professionals in the field of books, both from the country and from abroad. Writers, translators, publishers, festival organizers, literary critics, booksellers, book distributors, managers and cultural journalists – all will be at the center of events for the general public on the one hand, but also for specialists in the field, on the other hand .

After the 2013 edition, the Spanish daily newspaper El Pais wrote that FILIT was “already from its first edition, the most important literary festival in Eastern Europe” and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung appreciated that “an event of such prominence and European making never existed in Romania”.

FILIT is one of the largest literary festivals in Europe. The aspects noted are the large presence of the public, the interest shown by it, community involvement through numerous volunteers and related events, as well as the high number of events and their geographical distribution – cultural activities take place throughout the city and other localities in Iasi County. The 11th edition of FILIT will take place between 18-22nd October 2023.
