The International Festival of Literature and Translation (FILIT) is recruiting volunteers for its second edition, that will take place between 1 – 5 October 2014. The people selected will work alongside the Festival’s team of organizers in the run-up to the event and during the event itself.
We are looking for reliable and sociable persons, with the ability to speak at least one major international language and previous experience in organizing event. The candidates must be available before and during the event.
The areas in which volunteers will be active are varied and depend on the structure and requirements of FILIT:
• Communications • Logistics • Accompanying guests etc.
The deadline for submitting curricula vitae is Monday, 1st of September. These will only list information relevant to the Festival: personal information (age, e-mail, and telephone number), studies, spoken foreign languages, previous experience.
Some of the advantages of being a FILIT volunteer are: being part of the team that organizes the most important literary event in Eastern Europe; meeting some of the most important writers, translators, editors, Romanian and foreign journalists of the moment; enriching your CV with the important experience of taking part in the organisation of a major cultural event. The 2013 edition has benefited the support and implication of over 180 volunteers from all over the country.
The schedule for selection and training of the FILIT volunteers: –
– 1 September: deadline for sending the CV’s;
– 3-7 September: selected people will be contacted;
– 8 – 14 September: interviews;
– 15 September – 30 September: training of the selected volunteers and the assigning of the tasks.
