Alexandru ANDRIEȘ, along with Maria Ioana MÎNTULEASA, Sorin ROMANESCU and Berti BARBERA, will give concerts at the inaugural FILIT. These are the first names to be announced from a much longer list of musicians who will take to the stage during the festival.
Ada MILEA and BOBO will give a performance and concert based on texts by Gellu Naum and Ion Mureșan, as well as other items from their repertoire, old and new.
Ada MILEA is an artist and composer renowned for the inventiveness and freshness she has brought to the folk music genre since the late 1990s. Bobo BURLĂCIANU is a performer, actor and composer well known for his work with the Fără Zahăr band and his partnership with Ada Milea in the Quixote, The Nose, and The Island concert-performances.
Alexandru ANDRIEȘ is returning to Iași after a long absence especially for FILIT, along with another three outstanding artists: Maria Ioana MÎNTULESCU (vocals), Sorin ROMANESCU (guitar) and Berti BARBERA (harmonica, percussion). Alexandru Andrieș is one of Romania’s most famous singer-songwriters and one of the few who has been prominent in the local music scene since before 1989. His first record, Interiors (1984, Electrecord), has been followed by more than seventy albums to date, including both solo work and various compilations and DVDs featuring his songs.
FILIT concerts will provide a daily opportunity for the public to encounter quality music and major artists in dialogue with major writers, at both traditional and alternative venues. The five days of FILIT will include meetings with high-school pupils and university students, professional workshops, joint readings by Romanian and foreign writers, main events each evening featuring major writers, concerts by famous artists and bands, and informal meetings where readers will be able to socialise with their favourite writers.
